Mumbai Airport Terminal Guide: T1 vs T2 — Everything You Need to Know
Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) is India's second-busiest airport and handles both domestic and international traffic across two terminals.
Terminal 1 (T1) — Domestic
T1 handles domestic flights for most carriers. It's older and more crowded than T2, which makes porter service and fast-track even more valuable here. The check-in area gets extremely busy during peak hours (6–9 AM and 5–8 PM).
Terminal 2 (T2) — International + Select Domestic
The newer T2 is an architectural marvel with the famous Jaya He art wall. It handles all international flights and select domestic flights on Air India, Vistara, and some IndiGo routes.
Getting Between Terminals
There's no airside connection between T1 and T2. You'll need to exit and take a shuttle bus or taxi (about 20 minutes). Our transit assistance handles this entire process for you, including rebooking your bags if needed.
