Terminals

  • Main Terminal
  • South Terminal

The Main Terminal, with its Domestic, International and US areas, and the South Terminal for regional flights. Tell us your flight number and we work out which applies.

At Vancouver

  • One main terminal, three areasYVR's connections guide describes Canada departures from the A, B and C gates, international departures from the D gates and US departures from the E gates, where US Customs and Border Protection preclearance is done before you board.
  • The Canada Line station is between the two areasThe Canada Line's YVR Airport station sits between the International and Domestic Terminals; as you leave the train, YVR says, turn left for domestic flights or right for US and international flights. It reaches downtown Vancouver in under 30 minutes.
  • Connections depend on your bagsYVR says connection procedures vary with whether your baggage is checked through to your final destination: with through-checked bags you follow the connections signage; without, you clear Canada Customs on Level 2, claim your bags and check in again on Level 3.
  • The South Terminal is a separate buildingRegional flights use the South Terminal. For a connection between it and the main terminal YVR asks you to claim all checked bags and take the free Courtesy Shuttle from the departures level.

Already at Vancouver: special assistance, and the border

Canadian airports and airlines provide assistance to passengers with disabilities and reduced mobility. The airline arranges mobility assistance from the curb to boarding, and support for a connecting flight, and asks to be told at least 48 hours before the flight; the airport helps between the curb and check-in.

YVR asks passengers who want assistance to and from the boarding gate, or with boarding, to tell their airline at least 48 hours before travel. Its own Curbside Assistance, from the curb or the Canada Line to check-in, can be arranged up to 48 hours in advance through its 24/7 call centre, and self-push wheelchairs are kept at its Customer Care counters.

A host from us is a separate, paid service for company, luggage and finding the way. It does not replace the airline's or the airport's assistance, so please request that too if your traveller needs a wheelchair or help with mobility.

Immigration and customs at a Canadian airport are carried out by the Canada Border Services Agency, and US preclearance by US Customs and Border Protection; security screening is the airport's. No host and no request gives priority at the border or at screening.

How it works

Three steps, and no payment until you say yes.

  1. Tell us your flight

The airport, the date, the flight and who is travelling. It takes a few minutes, and nothing is charged.

  2. Our team checks availability

We confirm with our local airport service partner whether a host can be arranged for your date. Our desk is staffed 24 hours a day, every day.

  3. You receive a quotation

It states the full price in Canadian dollars and how to pay. If you accept and pay, we confirm in writing. Until then nothing is booked and nothing is owed.

Questions

Before you ask at Vancouver.

Can I ask about meet and assist at Vancouver International Airport?

Yes, as a request. Vancouver is on request: send your flight and our team checks whether a host can be arranged on your date, then confirms availability and price individually, in a quotation. Sending a request books nothing and costs nothing.

Which terminals at Vancouver International Airport can I ask for?

The Main Terminal, with its Domestic, International and US areas, and the South Terminal for regional flights. Tell us your flight number and we work out which applies.

Is there a porter service at Vancouver International Airport?

You can ask for help with luggage and a porter in your request. Tell us how many cases you have, and whether you are arriving, departing or connecting; what can be arranged is confirmed individually.

Is there a train from Vancouver Airport to downtown?

Yes. YVR says the Canada Line's YVR Airport station is between the International and Domestic Terminals and reaches downtown Vancouver in under 30 minutes, and that the N10 NightBus runs when the Canada Line is closed. If you would like a host to see you to the station, say so in your request.

Is there a shorter queue at the border, or priority at security?

No. Immigration and customs at a Canadian airport are carried out by the Canada Border Services Agency, and US preclearance by US Customs and Border Protection; security screening is the airport's. No host and no request gives priority at the border or at screening. What a host can do at your airport is stated in your quotation.
